„Buying a 5 day City Pass showed me most of Cape Town and gained me entry to Table Mountain, museums and other attractions, saving money and time buying tickets and waiting in line. To me buying a pass is a no-brainer."
Save up to 50% · Free hop-on hop-off bus included · Skip-the-line at top attractions
The Cape Town City Pass bundles entry to more than 80 of Cape Town's most-visited attractions — from Table Mountain Cableway and the Two Oceans Aquarium to wine estates, museums and the iconic Cape Wheel. Your hop-on hop-off bus ticket is included for the whole duration, so you can roam the city at your own pace without buying tickets at every stop.
Most travellers break even after just 3–4 attractions per day. With 80+ included, the more you do, the more you save.
For most travellers the Unlimited Pass is the right choice — it covers all 80+ attractions and the free hop-on hop-off bus. The Premium Pass adds one bucket-list experience (helicopter, shark cage, safari…) on top and is worth it if you specifically want that one extra activity.
Best for travellers who already know they want a bucket-list activity. Otherwise the Unlimited Pass is the better value.

„A safe, easy and efficient way of seeing Cape Town at a fraction of the cost of other tourist tours. The buses are clean and well maintained and they provide earphones for a very informative recorded guide."
„Excellent value on the 5 day pass — around £90 including 5 days HOHO. In 5 days the equivalent would have cost us over £200."

Honest answers to the questions travellers ask most often.
Yes — the operator confirms that the pass is accepted directly at the Table Mountain Cableway ticket counter. A few travellers have reported confusion at the station; if a staff member asks you to exchange your voucher, refer them to the Cape Town City Pass acceptance policy at the Cableway. The Cableway closes for annual maintenance from Monday 27 July to Sunday 9 August 2026 — exact dates change every year, so check the operator's site close to your trip.
No — Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden and Boulders Beach (the penguin colony) are not part of the Cape Town City Pass. Tickets must be bought separately on site. The hop-on hop-off bus does stop nearby.
You can buy the pass and activate it within 12 months. Once you scan it at your first attraction, validity runs for consecutive calendar days — not 24-hour periods. So a 3-day pass activated on Tuesday is valid Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Most attractions accept the pass without reservation. Premium experiences (helicopter, shark cage dive, safari, whale watching) and a few others require booking ahead — especially in peak season (November to February). The operator recommends calling ahead or visiting the attraction's website to confirm.
Yes — refunds can be requested for any unused pass within 12 months of purchase. Contact info@citypass.co.za to start the process. An admin fee of R40 applies per refund. Once you have scanned the pass at the first attraction, it can no longer be refunded.
Children aged 4–17 get reduced prices. Children under 4 travel free on the hop-on hop-off bus; individual attractions follow their own age policies. There is no family pass — each person needs their own pass.
For most travellers the Unlimited Pass is the right choice — it covers all 80+ attractions and the hop-on hop-off bus, with flexible 1, 2, 3 or 5-day options. The Premium Pass only makes sense if you specifically want one bucket-list activity (helicopter, shark cage dive, safari, paragliding or whale watching) — otherwise you're paying for an experience you wouldn't do anyway.
One pass, 80+ attractions, free hop-on hop-off bus — valid 12 months from purchase, refundable while unused.
